Terms of service
Last updated 25 October 2026
These terms cover your use of The Tiny Oak app at grow.thetinyoak.com. If your organisation has signed a separate agreement with us, that agreement takes priority where the two differ. By signing in, you agree to these terms.
The service
The Tiny Oak (“we”, “us”) provides a workspace where teams set goals, log progress, run reviews and manage related work. Each organisation (“customer”) gets its own workspace, and we may add, change or retire features over time. If we remove something a customer relies on, we will tell them in advance.
Accounts
- You sign in with a Google account. Keep that account secure; anything done through it is treated as done by you.
- A customer’s administrators decide who has access to their workspace and what each person can see and do. When someone leaves, the customer should remove their access.
- You must be at least 18 and using The Tiny Oak for work.
Your data
Everything a customer and its people put into their workspace belongs to the customer. We use it only to provide and support the service, keep it secure, and as described in our privacy policy. Customers are responsible for having the right to put information about their people into The Tiny Oak, and for how they use it, for example in reviews and pay decisions.
A customer can ask us for a copy of their workspace’s data, or for it to be deleted, at any time.
Acceptable use
Don’t use The Tiny Oak to:
- break the law or anyone else’s rights, including privacy and employment laws;
- try to get into another organisation’s workspace, or parts of your own you haven’t been given access to;
- upload malware, or anything you don’t have the right to share;
- overload, probe or disrupt the service, or copy or resell it.
We may suspend access that breaks these rules or puts other customers at risk, and will tell the customer why.
Demos and trials
A demo workspace (“sandbox”) comes with fictional sample data so you can try The Tiny Oak. It runs for a set period, after which it is paused and may be deleted. Don’t put real personal or confidential information into a sandbox. Sandboxes and trials are provided as they are, without the commitments in the sections below on availability and support.
Fees
Fees, if any, are as agreed in writing between us and the customer. If fees go unpaid after reminders, we may suspend the workspace; nothing in it is deleted while it is suspended.
Availability and support
We work to keep The Tiny Oak available and to fix problems quickly, and plan maintenance to minimise disruption. Support is available at hello@thetinyoak.com.
Our intellectual property
The Tiny Oak, including the software, design, the LIGHT framework and our brand, belongs to us. These terms give customers and their people the right to use the service; they don’t transfer ownership of it. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without obligation to you.
Ending use
A customer can stop using The Tiny Oak at any time. We may end a customer’s access with 30 days’ notice, or straight away if they seriously break these terms. When access ends, the customer can ask for a copy of their data within 30 days, after which we delete it.
Warranties and liability
We provide The Tiny Oak with reasonable skill and care. Apart from that, and to the extent the law allows, it is provided “as is”, without other promises, including that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Decisions about people, such as ratings, pay and promotions, are made by the customer, not by The Tiny Oak.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees the customer paid us in the 1 month before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, unless a customer’s agreement with us says otherwise.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and tell workspace administrators about significant changes at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use The Tiny Oak after that means accepting the new terms.
